Job Description:
Application Architect - London - Global Media company - Web/Media/.Net/Agile
A strong Application Architect experienced in being responsible for creating a clear vision for technologies to be used in business applications is required for a global media business. Enterprise application experience with the .Net framework & designs (REST, WSDL, WS-*, event-driven architectures, DSL) will be essential.
This role is working for a high profile global media company in a busy and dynamic environment and experience of designing highly scalable web sites, middleware platforms and integration strategies and messaging will be key. Overseeing or providing technology advice on projects and strategic initiatives will be core to the role.
Very strong communication, a proactive attitude and able to stand your ground in regards to ensuring quality are essential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for technologies, who wishes to be part of a market leader, establishing itself at the forefront of its industry.
Experience in the following is essential:
-Expert C# .NET and MS SQL Server 2000-2008
-Enterprise architecture and application frameworks and designs (to include REST, WSDL, WS-*, event-driven architectures, DSL)
-Experience of designing highly scalable web sites
-Experience of middleware platforms and integration strategies and messaging (BizTalk, MSMQ, ActiveMQ, SOA, ESB)
-Experience of portal technologies (e.g. MOSS)
-Agile, TDD, Continuous Integration
-Multi-threading, common design patterns, domain driven design
It would be beneficial for the right Application Architect to come from a media background and have a passion for digital and social media technologies.
